New Photo!
Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 04:12PM Got my Canon FD adapter and I am soooooooo happy. I can't believe how well these work with the e-p1! One pic I took with the Canon 50mm 1.8. JPEG with a touch of PP. I love this camera more and more.

Andrew - which FD adapter did you get in the end? I have a few FD lenses from my old film days (Canon AE-1) which I would love to use on the Pen, but have been a bit confused as to what adapters are available and which one is best to get. For example does the one you have allow you to focus at max aperture and stop down afterwards? Also how well made is it if it is not from one of the "recognised" manufacturers? I am a little nervous of damaging my EP-1 with a poorly made adapter so am willing to pay more for a better made one if necessary.
Any advice most helpful!
I got the jinfinance adapter from ebay. It's built very well and feels very good on the e-p1. It does allow stopping down and manual focus to infinity. I really love using the FD lenses with this camera!
Thanks Andrew - that's very helpful. That was the one I was thinking of getting as it's the one most of the forums seem to mention, but wanted to hear some real world experiences before putting the dosh down!
Only issue is I'm a bit eBay-phobic (had a couple of bad experiences with it) so was jinfinance easy / trustworthy to deal with? How long did it take for your adapter to turn up?
It was easy to buy and get...but it did take a while. The shipping was free and pretty slow, about 2 to 3 weeks. You can opt to get faster shipping if you want to pay for it but I opted not to. But other than that I had no issues at all.
Thanks Andrew - just ordered one from jinfinance so let's hope I can manage the wait for it to arrive! I already can't wait to try it out especially with my 50 F1.8 lens too - I always thought that was a great little lens for the money on my old AE-1 :-)
You will love it. I barely take the adapter off my camera!
