Manual Focusing Legacy Lenses...

Hello everyone,

yesterday in London, we had a good few hours playing with the E-P1 with a whole range of lenses - both 4/3rds with full CDAF functionality, and a good selection of legacy lenses - mounted via the Panasonic 4/3rds adapter - stacked with an OM or other adapter.

For the manual lenses, we were focusing using the big 3" lcd - and I have started to fast focus by eye without even zooming in to the 10x live view. This has a huge advantage in speed.

Here are a couple of examples :

You say full CDAF functionality with all FT lenses. The manual pdf contradicts this saying C-AF is not available with FT lenses. So is it only functional with S-AF CDAF?

cheers

Quite right Douglas - CDAF is too slow to give decent C-AF... quite apart from the screen stutter in burst mode - which makes tracking the subject you're shooting very difficult... as is the case with the Panasonic G1.

Kind Regards

Brian
