How to set your CDAF focus target freely...
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 07:52AM When you select Single Point as the Auto Focus target, you get to select from a central grid of 11 patches.
But if you're shooting a landscape or street scene, and you want freeform and precise focusing anywhere in the frame... here's how you can do that.
- Press the Info button to cycle to the display with the green zoom box for MF assist zoom.
- Move the green box to anywhere you want to precisely focus.
- Press 'OK' to zoom in the display to your focus patch.
- Press AEL/AFL to perform the S-AF focus scan... bingo! perfect focus.
- Press 'OK' again to zoom out to full view and take your shot.
Hope that helps,
