E-P1 Sample Gallery Opened...

Hello everyone,

I've opened a gallery for the Olympus E-P1 here, and will be posting examples as I get to grips with the camera over the next few weeks.

Today, I've been out in my garden in brilliant sunshine using the E-P1 with the Olympus ZD 50 f2 macro, attached using the Lumix 4/3rds adapter.

The ZD 50 has never been a particularly fast lens to focus on 4/3rds - and on the E-P1, focusing is about the same speed, and very accurate.

I've been trying to capture bees with the E-620, using live view with limited success... due to the delay as the mirror has to flap out of the way for every exposure. Live view on the E-P1 is much more responsive... as there's no mirror to flap, and you can select focus... switch to MF (as described above) and fire when the bee comes into focus.

Here's a sample.

...and here's a 100% PIXEL LEVEL CROP

The main thing to note, apart from the sharpest and cleanest detial I've seen yet from an Oly DSLR - and the superb colour... is that the camera is quite useable in brilliant sunshine.

Any questions/suggestions, please Post a comment below.

Kind Regards

Brian
