E-P1 firmware 1.2 released - improves CDAF speed.

Hello everyone,

great news for all E-P1 owners... Olympus have released Firmware 1.2 for the E-P1.

Version 1.1 firmware for the Lumix 20mm f1.7 is also available.

The good news - it's significantly improved the responsiveness and focusing speed with 17mm f2.8, 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 and 20mm f1.7 - all just exercised.

My gut feeling is that Olympus have halved the gap in focusing speed, between their last firmware revision and Panasonic's G1/GH1/GF1 focusing speed. Not a dramatic improvement (we're only talking 10'ths of a second difference here) - but noticable.

Update your E-P1 now - you do this by plugging into your machine running Olympus Master/Studio while connected to the internet.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery installed first, and follow the instructions on screen.
