Experience Diaries... mZD 9-18 and mZD 14-150

Hello everyone,

I am delighted to report that Olympus UK have supplied me with production level copies of these two new lenses for m4/3rds.

Please follow the links below for experience diaries on mu-43.com, which I co-administrate with Amin Sabet.

Just to let you know, that I'll be inviting Olympus Photo Safari Group members out for events in the Peak District and perhaps some City shooting in the near future to gather your impressions first hand, and feedback to Olympus on the E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1 with these lenses.

PAD Project... 90 days really worked for me!

Hello everyone,

as we enjoy some absolutely gorgeous weather here, I'd just like to share with you that my 90 day Photo A Day project has really led to a transformation of my skills, vision and enthusiasm for photography.

I knew when I started the project over on mu-43.com that 90 days of consistent effort on any skill would lead to serious change in myself - in my habits, skill and confidence, and it's largely panned out that way...

Having completed my own 90 day run, I'm continuing to encourage people to join the initiative... and share their own experience at 30 days, 60 days and 90 days along the way.

Please do take a moment to visit our Olympus Photo Safari Group PAD gallery, and login to post some encouragement to the photographers there - leave me a comment below if you're considering taking up the challenge for yourself - I guarantee the rewards for stepping up are dramatic.

Cheers

Lightzone 3.9 released, E-P2/PL1 now supported.

Hello everyone,

great news! Light Crafts have released version 3.9 of Lightzone with native support for the Olympus E-P2 and E-PL1 added.

I suspect this will be the last point release before version 4.0... great to see the latest m4/3rds cameras being supported so quickly.

Remember, you get the chance to win a free copy of Lightzone every month, courtesy of the Lightzone contest we're hosting on mu-43.com (last chance today to make an entry for March!)

Free Lightzone Workshop...

Hello everyone,

as you may know, I've been a long term advocate of Lightzone for raw conversion and post processing...

I'm very excited to announce that we now have an on-line workshop with a monthly contest to win a free copy of Lightzone here.

I'm hoping this will become a very well populated discussion for people to discuss photographic visualisation and post processing. Lightzone has the advantage of being extremely transparent - you can see every step someone has made to transform an original image inside the application.

Here's an example of an image I took with the E-P2 + 20mm f1.7 last weekend.

E-P2 + 20mm f1.7
1/60s f/5.6 at 20.0mm iso200

The image was very strongly affected by sun flare... I was able to create this rendition using Lightzone.

Hope to see you over there for a great learning experience!

Cheers

Brian
